If Only!!!!!

As the saying goes...... You can't have your cake and eat it too.

It was this time last year that everyone in the Amelia Park Club was singing the praises of their gutsy little horse LOCK THE VAULT and daring to dream of what the future may hold with him. A week later he stepped out and ran a mighty second in the Fruit 'n' Veg Stakes and we began to talk 2006 Railway Stakes. That all seemed natural enough considering he was meeting and beating most of the three year olds around the place at the time.

Turn the clock forward twelve months and it seems ironical that when I opened up the paper this morning, the headlines said "Scenic Shot backed into Railway favouritism." Taking nothing away from Scenic Shot, and I wish his connections the very best for today’s race, but little "OCCY" did have a very good record against him and I have no doubt what so ever that he would have been in the race right up to his ears today!

It would have been very very exciting for everyone to be out there today screaming home the little black flash in the Railway Stakes instead of sitting at home without a runner on the day. As they say..... You can't have your cake and eat it too!!!!!!
