BUSY DAY AT BELMONT TODAY.

For the first time in a few weeks we head out to the races today with more than just one runner. We have three acceptors in the first race for two year olds however CROWNY will not be starting. I feel he will be better suited with another gallop or two under his belt. We still have PRINCESS AMELIA and ELLIPSIS in the race and both will run well. PRINCESS AMELIA ran a great race first up and deserves her place as one of the main chances however I am sure that ELLIPSIS can run an improved race if given a chance to settle.

In race five we have PETE THE PROFILER making his Saturday debut. The horse has won his three starts so far this preparation however he takes on older and more experienced opposition today. The horse has done nothing wrong since his last win and I expect him to run well again. His awkward barrier may cause him some concern and it will take a good ride today to give him the chance to make it four in a row. We all know that it is very rare for a horse to make it four in a row.

In race six we start smart three year old filly SECRET VAULT. This filly has been out of the winners list for a while now however her runs have been good so far this campaign. The filly had some major feet problems at the end of her last campaign however we appear to have them under control now. The filly is stepping up to 1400m today and is taking on older opposition for the first time. There is a lot of speed in the race and I am looking forward to seeing how she handles the step up.

All in all I am looking forward to a good day at the track and I am sure the staff are equally keen to see a winner emerge from our four runners. I have spent most of the past few weeks down at Amelia Park Farm breaking in the all of my yearlings while the staff have done a great job keeping things ticking along back here. There is no doubt that they will take great delight from any winning performance today should we be lucky enough to win one. There may even be a bit of bragging rights up for grabs!!!! Happy punting.
