BACK TO BELMONT TODAY

Today we see racing return to Belmont Park after another long but enjoyable summer of racing at Perth's number one track, Ascot. Not that I have anything against Belmont but I have to say that Ascot is my favourite course. There is much more atmosphere at Ascot and a general feel good vibe about the place. Mind you, races are just as hard to win at either track. This season saw us again get amongst the big winners with victory in the W.A. GUINEAS and PERTH CUP.

Today we head to Belmont with three runners, all engaged early in the day. REGOL STREET R2, TOTAL MAROONED R3 and AMELIA'S REASON R4 make up our trio of runners and all have pleased in their work during the week. All three have struck handy fields today but are more than capable of finishing in the money with a bit of luck in running.

REGOL STREET ran a nice race at Ascot first up when being narrowly beaten in a 1000m event. He appeared to be doing his best work on the line. TOTAL MAROONED has not shown a lot at his only two starts last preparation however his work suggests that he will do something this campaign. AMELIA'S REASON has been a major disappointment since promising so much early in his career. We have made a few changes to his track work since he last raced and hopefully we will see a difference in his performance today.

Over the next few weeks we should have a few runners ready to resume at Belmont so hopefully there will be a few handy winners amongst them.

Happy punting for today and for the rest of the Belmont season.
