IT'S ALL STARTING TO HOT UP!!

As we head into another season of summer racing its not just the weather which is starting to hot up. In recent weeks I have noticed a real turning of the tide in the results from our horses and hopefully we are over our quietest season for a long time.

Two weeks ago ALMOHAD was successful over 1600m at Ascot and he is now ready to step out again at Ascot this coming weekend. Last weekend my filly ASCOLI was unplaced at Ascot however her performance suggested that she would not take long to break through for her first win. She ran an unlucky third yesterday and hit the line strongly.

During the week we had AMELIA'S LAD run a great second over 1600m at Ascot on Cup day however he has suffered an injury to his knee and will require surgery before he races again.

On Thursday I took three runners to Pinjarra where the club has a $10,000 bonus incentive for any trainer who can win three races on the one day. I figured all would run well so why not have a go. My first two were beaten a total of about ten inches before my third runner won in great style topping off a good day.

FUMIO and TERADA were having there first ever race starts and both got a bit lost the first time down the Pinjarra straight however both will improve many lengths the next time the step out. CROWN OF CAITLIN was stepping out first up for this campaign and she maintained her brilliant first up form with a near last to first performance which is very hard to do anywhere let alone at Pinjarra.

All three have pulled up well and I am sure we will find another suitable race for them soon.
