CEEDEX AT LAST

Consistent young performer CEEDEX broke through for an overdue win when successful at Ascot earlier today. The lightly raced son of EXCEED AND EXCEL has been in good form of late running close up to the winner at his last three starts and being unlucky on a few occasions.

The horse has put in some barnstorming efforts of late and today was his first try at the 1400m. He is built like a 1000m horse and his sire has thrown the winners of a few short course races however this little guy will not be at his best until he gets to 1400-1600m. Even in today's race the horse appeared to be travelling like the winner a long way from home however he came off the bit before the corner and looked gone for all money with 200m left to travel. That is when he switched on and really powered to the line.

We will now look to keep CEEDEX in races over the distance of today's race for his next run or two before he is given a short spell. This horse is a half brother to former top class mare ROYALE HARVEST and if he is anything like her the best is still to come with him. ROYALE HARVEST was a slow maturing type and CEEDEX appears to have very similar traits. If he can win as many races as her I will be very happy with him.
