WILD CHARGER IN QUICK TIME

Jason Whiting urges WILD CHARGER to the line for an impressive win at Belmont on the weekend.

Smart galloper WILD CHARGER showed by his impressive win at Belmont on Saturday that he has the potential to measure up to better company and could be a bit better than average. WILD CHARGER covered the 1200m in 1.09.75, final 600m in 33.36 which is close to low level flying by normal standards at Belmont. Once again the horse settled back in the field and was brought onto the scene late with a well timed run by regular jockey Jason Whiting to win in easy style.

WILD CHARGER has been a relatively sound horse and an easy horse to train however this preparation has been a bit of a headache for us and the farriers after the horse had a "seedy" toe cut out which left him feeling a bit uncomfortable in his action for close to a month. It has only been over the past few weeks that we have had the horse sound enough to take back to the races and he has run very nice races on both occasions that we have started him.

The horse has come through his run in good style and has been nominated to run at Belmont again this weekend. If he does run it is likely to be his last start for this campaign as I would like to give the horse a short break during the spring and have him back for some nice races in the autumn. If he doesn't run on Sunday he will start the following week in a similar race.
