“Occy” Back In Form
Lock The Vault runs on strongly in Hong Kong.
After his first two starts in Hong Kong, things were not looking real flash for our old horse Lock The Vault. The horse was then given a bit of a freshen up and obviously the new trainer is starting to learn a bit more about the horse. I also read somewhere that the horse suffered a palate displacement at his first start so he has had a genuine reason to be racing a bit below par.
Occy stepped out in a good race on Sunday; a class two 1400m event and ran a very impressive second. After settling back mid field the horse hit the line strongly when ridden by one of Hong Kong’s best jockey's. It was a real "be on me next start" performance and he looks like he is going to make the grade up there.
As much as I hated losing the horse I still get a kick out of seeing him perform well and I hope he can go on and win a few big races for his new owners.
