ESTIARTE CAN RUN A BIT

Lightly raced three year old gelding showed by his strong win at Ascot yesterday that there are more wins in store for him. Having only his fourth race start and only his second for me, this horse sat wide for most of the race before covering extra ground on the corner then still let down in the straight to win in easy style. The horse had a good blow after the race suggesting that there is still plenty of improvement left in him.

ESTIARTE (named after a world champion water polo player) showed at his first start for me at Northam two weeks ago, that he had city class ability. The horse would have won first up, however he lost concentration in the straight after hitting the front and began to run around while waiting for his opposition. With the blinkers off and sitting back a bit further on his opposition, the horse responded in great style when asked for an effort yesterday.

Considering that this horse is still not at his peak, I am confident that he can pick up a nice race over the next few weeks.
