THREE FOR BELMONT TODAY

We head out to a wet and overcast Belmont Park later today with three runners set to do battle. In the first race the Amelia Park Syndicate will be represented by two runners, the consistent OUTSIDE INFLUENCE and the staying bred filly WING STAR.

Both fillies are fit and well however I am not convinced that the 1200m distance of today's race will suit either filly. OUTSIDE INFLUENCE looks best placed after hitting the line strongly from well back in the field over 1000m last start, whilst WING STAR has always shown that she is unlikely to get warm until she gets to 1600m and further. I expect her to be hitting the line strongly.

In the fifth race of the day we start the slightly disappointing LA COUREUSE. This mare promised plenty as a young horse however a combination of feet and lung problems has seen her fail to regain her best form. I have no doubt that if this mare raced anywhere near her best form she would blow this field away. Unfortunately she appears to be thinking of other things at the moment and if she fails again today she may just get her wish as we will ship her off to the breeding barn where hopefully she can become a successful broodmare.

All in all I will be happy if they can all run nice races however I would expect OUTSIDE INFLUENCE to be the best of my three runners.
