Weekend keeps getting better.
Two for two at York
Yesterday we ventured to York with two runners, both in maiden company. Both gallopers had only had a couple of lifetime starts each and both were dropping back a fair bit in class to what they had been racing against.
The first runner, ANNAGASSAN, has had a lot of setbacks in her life as a racehorse however yesterday she showed just what she is capable of with a brilliant all the way win over 1300m. Although the company was not great, the way she won suggests that there are more wins in store for the four year old Tribu mare.
My second runner, CELT CODE, was also very impressive in winning her race. The three year old filly was starting for only the third time this preparation and was coming of a disappointing second up run. The filly made light of all that and the fact that she was taking on older horses on a very tricky track. The filly settled mid field before starting her run down the hill and going wide on the bend. It did not take her long to gather in the leaders and win very well on the line. The filly has a real staying pedigree and I am confident that the best of her will not be seen until she gets up over 2000m or more.
All in all a pretty good weekend all round I'd say!!
